A Message from Premier Dennis Fentie
Welcome to the 2009 Western Premiers’ Conference in historic Dawson City, Yukon.
This is an occasion for us to meet and discuss issues of importance to our jurisdictions, including ways to strengthen the economy and our communities.
Our continued commitment to work together through meetings such as the Western Premiers’ Conference will help our respective governments strengthen the economic future of the West and the North.
We will focus our work at these meetings on responding both cooperatively and individually to the current economic climate and on building a more resilient region and a stronger country.
I know you will enjoy your time in Dawson City. It is a unique location with a past that lives on through its vibrant heritage and First Nations’ culture. The excellent food, accommodations and Yukon-style entertainment will add to the overall success of this year’s meetings.
